For Some Reason, Four Companies Are Still Interested in Preserving Fisker
To put it mildly, Fisker has had a challenging few months. Talks with Nissan broke down after the business stated it would need to form a partnership with another automaker before going bankrupt. Subsequently, Fisker promptly reduced inventory pricing for an Ocean SUV variant that might or might not actually exist. However, there’s still a sliver of optimism.
In an all-hands meeting last week, CEO Henrik Fisker reportedly informed staff members that at least four automakers remain interested in a possible investment in the business, according to Business Insider. “Yes, four automakers have signed nondisclosure agreements,” Fisker informed his staff last week. “However, they obviously need time to get to some diligence.”
Fisker ocean did not offer a timeline or details about the companies that might be interested. After negotiations broke down over a reported $400 million agreement that would have started manufacture of the Alaska pickup and a separate electric pickup for Nissan, Nissan most likely won’t be one of them.
Fisker may face bankruptcy if no agreement is reached with any of these four automakers in the next thirty days. It is alleged that the company’s cash equivalencies amount to just $54 million, and it states that this amount will “not be sufficient to meet its current obligations.” This occurred months after the corporation failed to collect millions of dollars in payment despite delivering hundreds of cars.
In the coming weeks, we’ll find out if Fisker can reach an agreement and avoid bankruptcy or if it’s inevitable.
