When we talk about extremely expensive automobiles, they typically either have a fascinating backstory or are some of the rarest examples of the rich automotive past. You’re not buying it? Take a look at the top ten most costly vehicles ever sold at an auction. Every vehicle on the list is extremely uncommon and has a unique backstory.
On the other hand, this Nissan Skyline is one of the rarest vehicles available today. There were only ten Skyline R32 HKS Zero-Rs produced by the Japanese tuner, so this isn’t your typical Skyline.
The Skyline R32 HKS Zero R is the only surviving example of its type in Brunei. As a matter of fact, only four of the ten that were produced in 1994 still stand; the other three are currently located in Japan. The current owner of the car claims that the other six that HKS produced were found to violate ISO requirements, resulting in significant financial losses for the tuner, which was forced to stop manufacturing. It’s an endangered species of JDM, and seeing one in this man’s garage, standing tall and well-cared for, is illuminating.
One JDM legend is The Skyline:
The Skyline R32 HKS Zero-R is unique from previous Skylines in that it has two seats, with the fuel cell located in the rear. The car was lighter than the standard R32 and had dual exhausts added by HKS. The logo beside the fenders and the inside amenities were all decked out in Zero R.
However, because the original engine had already failed, an RB26 took its place under the hood. However, the RB26, which generates about 600 horsepower, is just as powerful.
Although the Skyline R32 HKS Zero-R is amazing in video form, we seriously doubt that we will ever get to see this vehicle in person. That is unless we go to Brunei.
